Who We Are
RSGA is a voice for Rwanda’s individual and institutional tour guides, recognising them as professionals and upholding the highest standards of conduct and ethics. As a voluntary member-based professional body for the nature guiding sector, RSGA sets, supports, and implements professional standards to ensure technical and ethical competence, promoting and supporting career development and safeguarding the public interest.
WHO IS YOUR RWANDA SAFARI GUIDE.
Is a person ready to receive you and your friends or family from the Airport or any other land border entry point, drive through the clean streets of Kigali deep into the volcanoes to meet humans’ closest cousins (gorillas), bring you close to a family of elephants, a pride of lions, a leap of leopards, a herd of antelopes, giraffes in the lush savannah of Akagera National Park, or take you to the well-nested hills of Bigogwe to dance, sing, and enjoy an impeccable Rwandese-cow relationship? Rwanda is his or her home, and he or she knows it well: the landscapes, the people, and most definitely, the wildlife.
Your tour companion, teacher and friend.
He or she is your guide into the exotic world you are about to enter. We require that your guide’s knowledge of this landscape be unsurpassed and that he or she be confident, steadfast, and ready to handle any situation.
So throughout your journey expect to have a leader, companion, teacher, and very importantly, your friend. But he or she must equally have unequalled knowledge of where to find that family of elephants or an elusive leopard, and he or she must also be tuned into your needs – is it time to take a break or have lunch or perhaps pull up to an incredible vista for a sundowner?
When a guide knows and lives these vital concepts, then he or she is definitely a member of RSGA. And only then will we entrust him with you, our precious tourist.

Together, you and your our member (guide) will create your personal safari story – the anticipation of the adventure, unforgettable moments watching a gorilla taking post-lunch naps or silver chest beating gastures, the big dramatic moments of the chase, the quiet introspective times around the campfire recalling special moments of the day, and the emotional goodbyes at the end of your journey.
It is RSGA members’ singular purpose to create this special safari story for you… one of exceptional memories to treasure, for you to share with others for years to come.
